Katlyn made 4 dresses with 7 yards of fabric. How many yards did she us on 1 dress?

On one dress she would use 7 yards divided by 4 dresses or 1.75 yards. The answer is obtained by taking the total number of yards she bought and dividing  it up between the 4 dresses she needed to make and thus finding out the answer.
