SOLUTIONS

Giving that f(x)=3x^2-x-5, g(x)=-1 what is (f+g)(x)

[tex]\begin{gathered} f(x)=3x^2-x-5 \\ g(x)=-1 \end{gathered}[/tex][tex](f+g)(x)=f(x)+g(x)[/tex]

Adding up the two function:

[tex]\begin{gathered} (3x^2-x-5)+-1 \\ simplify\text{ the bracket} \\ 3x^2-x-5-1 \\ 3x^2-x-6 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Therefore the correct answer is:

[tex](f+g)(x)=3x^2-x-6[/tex]
